Many of us listen frequently "Linux" and " Unix " ,so ,what's the difference between them ?
In this article we'll talk about the difference between them.
Let's begin with Linux.
Like Windows XP, VISTA, 7,8,10 and Mac OS ,Linux is also an operating system for computers .
Linux is an open source operating system ,which means that you can find its source code in the public to view or even to edit .It's created in 17th September 1991 by the Finnish-American engineer Linus Thorvald -- Finnish = from Finland --. In fact , Linux is the name of its kernel, the became the system's name . Linux compatible with any computer
Linux components :
**Kernel : the lowest software of any OS , manages the CPU ,memory and any peripheral device .
**Bootloader : a software manages the booting in a computer .
**Daemons : tasks that's preferred on the background such as sound , printing...etc .These are maybe loaded during booting or when you log in .
**System libraries : a set of functions makes the Applications interrelated through the Kernel .
**Shell : an interface allows you to control the computer through commands .It's also known as ( command-lne or MS-dos in Windows ). You can use the shell after logging in .
**Applications : different programs that will be used by a computer or a user .
**Graphical Server : a system that displays graphics on the screen .

It's a proprietary operating system ,developed in 1960s by Ken Thompson, Dennis Ritchie and others when they were worked at Bell Labs . Unlike Linux, Unix's source code isn't available in the public and it's not free .Unix is compatible with few computers,Unix is used in internet servers .
